Profile

Dr Singh has had an exciting medical career spanning three continents. He graduated with an MBBS degree in India in 2000, completed a one-year internship, and worked in the private sector for less than a year. He then moved to the UK to further his medical career, where he completed postgraduate training, earned his MRCP(UK), and specialised in Respiratory Medicine (CCT - Respiratory Medicine) in the West Midlands. After working for nine months as a Locum Consultant Respiratory Specialist at Worcestershire Royal Hospital, he relocated to Australia in 2016.

He began working as a Respiratory Specialist at Orange Base Hospital in NSW, earned his FRACP(Australia) in 2017, and continues to hold a part-time public sector appointment. Additionally, he runs a private clinic at The LAB Orange and recently joined Sydney Respiratory Specialist and Sydney Adventist Hospital.

Dr Singh has also served as an Associate Clinical Lecturer with the School of Rural Health at the University of Sydney and chaired the Western Lung Cancer Working Group. He is a core member of the Lung Cancer MDT and has a keen interest in respiratory conditions like lung cancer, interstitial lung disease, airway diseases, and bronchial infections.

Research

Dr Singh has contributed to several research projects, including "EaSyC RDP: Evaluation of a Smoking Cessation Referral Decision Prompt within Cancer Services." He also participated in the "Lung Cancer Referral Decision Prompt" feasibility trial in 2016, aimed at enhancing the lung cancer referral pathway by introducing a prompt for referral to a lung cancer specialist, triggered by a radiologist reporting suspicious CT chest findings. During his respiratory training, he worked on the Bronchiectasis Database, gathering extensive microbiological data from patients at the Bronchiectasis Clinic at University Hospital Birmingham (poster presented at the BTS Winter Meeting 2013). Additionally, he collected data on the performance of bronchoalveolar lavage in diagnosing Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) at Birmingham Heartlands Hospital in 2012, with findings published in AJRCCM and Annals of Thoracic Surgery.
